We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains which personal data Astromerge collects through astromerge.com, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have. It applies to this website.

Our approach to data protection

Astromerge is a U.S. company and is not directly subject to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We nevertheless follow strict data protection practices similar to the GDPR: we collect only what we need, use it only for the purpose you gave it for, keep it for a limited time, protect it, and respect your rights described below.

Who we are

Astromerge is a limited liability partnership based in Columbus, Ohio, USA. We are responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach us at privacy@astromerge.com.

What we collect

We only collect what you send us:

your first name, email address and message, when you use our contact form or write to us by email, and
data you share with us that relates to the services we offer (for example project details or documents, if we work together).

We do not run user accounts or a newsletter list, and this website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

To protect the form from spam and abuse we use a hidden field and a short timer, and we record a log entry for every submission containing the time, your IP address, your email address and your message. The log is stored in a folder that is not accessible from the web and is used only for security, abuse prevention and to document your inquiry. We also keep a counter based on a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for a few hours to limit abuse. Log entries are deleted automatically after 90 days.

Why we use your data and on what basis

We use your data only to answer your inquiry and, if you ask us to, to provide our services. We do this on the basis of your consent, which you give by sending us the contact form or an email and on our legitimate interest in answering business inquiries and in taking steps you ask for before entering into a contract. We do not use your data for marketing and we do not sell it.

How long we keep it

We delete all personal data after 90 days. If the law requires us to keep certain records longer (for example contract, tax or export-control records), we keep only what is required and delete it as soon as the legal requirement has been fulfilled.

Who we share it with

We do not share personally identifying information publicly or with third parties, except:

with service providers we need to run our business, such as our email provider and, if you book a call, TidyCal (their own privacy policies apply),
when the law requires it, or
with your explicit consent.

Because we are based in the United States, your data is processed in the United States.

Your rights

We apply the same rights to everyone who contacts us, wherever you live. You can ask us at any time to:

access the data we hold about you,
correct it,
delete it (right to erasure),
restrict how we use it,
give you a copy of it in a common format (data portability),
stop using it when you object, and
withdraw your consent (this does not affect what we did before).

Cookies and external resources

This website does not set cookies, and it does not load fonts, scripts or trackers from third parties: all fonts are hosted on our own server. Our pages may link to external sites that we do not operate. We have no control over their content or privacy practices and cannot accept responsibility for them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will publish the new version on this page. Your continued use of the website means you accept the current version.
